Living In A Small Town

I think the best part of living in a small town is the people. Some days I am just amazed at the great people I am surrounded by, and other days I am amazed at the crazy people I am surround by!

This past weekend I stopped by the Vine Outreach Thrift Store to pick up some produce. While there I spent some time talking with Missy from Cupcakes and Keepsakes (that's another great story). Missy was sharing with me some of the great things happening at the Vine. Not only do they help feed and clothe people that need it, they help heal their souls. The love and caring I saw while there was so uplifting. I left feeling better than when I came in. Without knowing it they had lifted my spirits.

I did want to share this story; Missy took me in the back and while there I was saw a homeless man showing flash cards to a senior citizen. This homeless person was teaching the other gentlemen to read. Now that's community. If we all just gave a little of our time to help someone else this world would be such a better place!
