National Day of the Cowboy July 23-24

In collaboration with Tom Bass and the National Day of the Cowboy organization, the Osceola County Historical Society will hold a National Day of the Cowboy event on its Pioneer Village grounds on Saturday and Sunday, July 23-24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

The free admission event will include various exhibit and crafts vendors offering everything "cowboy culture," casual talks and demonstrations, live music and home-style barbecue. There will also be activities for the children.

On Sunday, July 24, the morning will begin with a traditional cowboy church service held under the oak trees on the village grounds.

“The state of Florida has declared Saturday, July 23, as National Day of the Cowboy in Florida, and celebrations in observance of this day are being held throughout the nation during the entire month through a wide range of activities, including the one being held here at the Pioneer Village.”

26th Annual Mid-Summer Dollhouse & Miniatures Show & Sale

Exhibits and displays:

We will have our Guild-member-created street "The Boulevard" on display. Also our Guild project of the year, "Victorian Painted Ladies". Miniatures in all scales will be on display in both Guild Exhibits and Judged Exhibits areas. Come wander amongst them and let the miniatures dazzle your eyes and inspire your creativity.

Roundtables

Make-it-take-it roundtables will be held during the show on Sunday. No pre-registration is needed. Information about the workshops will be posted as it becomes available.

Come create a treasure or two!

Children's Area

Each year we offer a FREE workshop for children ages 6 -12. This year, the children will be creating a miniature garden birdhouse. The birdhouse is made from a hand-painted wooden candle cup, dowel rod, and button plug. The children will glue the pieces together and it will be ready for their dollhouse garden. This is a fun and easy project that is very child-friendly! website
